T1 - Museum of Christian Martyrs – 30 minutes

This 30-minute tour is a most heartfelt reminder of the price our brothers and sisters paid in the past, and are paying today, for God’s Word and the great Honor to openly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We begin with Stephen and travel throughout history to present day.

E1 - American Votive Folk Art

American Votive Folk-Art or Immigrant Community Art became stylish back in the early 1900s. This art form began to decline in popularity around 1916, but this community folk-art continued in some isolated towns into the early 1940s. BibleWalk is very honored to display the largest collection of this art form to be found in the United States. This collection of 35 pieces was formerly housed at the Gem Vesper’s Museum in Barton, New York.

E2 - Three Animated Displays

Three Animated Displays created by Spaeth Design of New York originally built for The American Bible Society has found their home at BibleWalk. The figures and animation of the Empty Tomb, the Nativity and Peter Walking on the Water are each housed in a beautiful 7 ½ feet x 8 ½ feet case. Eight carvings of related Biblical stories frame and adorn each scene.

E3 - Christian Art Gallery

Christian Art Gallery featuring the paintings of George C. A. Malick. Mr. Malick was widely known as a master of dramatic realism. Although he was known for many types of paintings he was most notably known for his religious art work. BibleWalk has on display a number of his illustrations from four books: Chosen to Serve, Young People of the Bible, Women of the Bible and Men of the Bible. This group of paintings began in the 1960’s and they came to completion in the early 1980’s.

E4 - Rare Bible Collection

Rare Bible Collection from the collection of retired Air Force Chaplain Lewie H. Miller Jr. Four cases of rare and old Bibles are displayed at BibleWalk. The remainder of Chaplain Miller’s collection is displayed at the Miller Bible Museum in North Greenville University.

E5 - The Wood Carvings of John Burns

The Wood Carvings of John Burns

The Wood Carvings of John Burns is another wonderful testimony and exhibit of a man who loved the Lord. Mr. Burns carved seven religious scenes from 1971 -1987. The scenes are carved from white pine using hammer and chisel the work would begin digging into the wood until shapes began to appear. Then as the detail work began grinders of all shapes and sizes, dental tools and drills were used to accomplish the most intricate work.

T2 - The Life of Christ – 60 minutes

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was made Flesh” begins your 60-minute journey into the life, death, resurrection, ascension and ends with Christ seated on His Throne at “The Great White Throne Judgement”. This tour also features one of Madame Tussaud’s famous Last Supper re-creations. The tour features 25 separate narrated scenes of Jesus Christ’s life from the bible.

E6 - The Walk of the Parables

The Walk of the Parables consists of 39 original oil paintings, each four feet wide and seven feet high. The paintings are the work of noted religious artist Mark Pedro; and are thought to be the first series of paintings depicting the parables of Jesus ever undertaken by a single artist.

These oil paintings were formerly on display at Christus Gardens in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

T4 - Heart of the Reformation – 30 minutes

The Spirit of Reform broke out with great intensity in the 1500’s, giving birth to Protestantism. This 30-minute in-depth look into the lives of many of these great Heroes of the Faith will prove to be most inspiring and educational. Life-like wax figures of John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, and John Knox, to name a few, is a must see!

E3 - Miracles of the Old Testament – 60 minutes

This 60-minute tour highlights beloved Old Testament stories of faith, courage, and hope. This museum also houses our award-winning, custom-made replica of The Ark of the Covenant.

E7 - The Invitation

The Invitation, Elfred Lee’s painting welcomes visitors as they walk through BibleWalk’s entryway. This four feet by eight feet framed picture was painted in 2004. The Invitation is a stunning depiction of Noah’s call to mankind before the Great Flood. This particular painting includes many animals some of which are now extinct, heading for the safety of the Ark.

E8 - Heavenwood

“Heavenwood” is an 8’x4′ display taking an in depth look into the ministry of Jesus. This unique collection of woodcarvings are the work of Howard K. Leber. Howard had always believed in Jesus, but it wasn’t until after he retired; that he found that his walk and faith in the Lord began to deepen.

Howard was inspired to create woodcarvings and displays depicting various stories from the Life of Jesus. Most of the wood used to create this miniature diorama is from barn siding taken from an old barn on the family farm. Howard loved the woods on his land especially an area behind the woods, that he called “Heavenwood”. Heavenwood became his signature on his earlier carvings. Thus his family named this labor of love, Heavenwood in honor of their Father. In addition to his talent, Howard’s love for Gods is very evident as one views this unique display.

E9 - Emmanuel Word Pictures

Emmanuel Word Pictures is a unique Sacred art created from the Words of the Bible. The artist Rev. Gwang Hyuk Rhee of Korea was given this inspiration from the Lord 10 years before he ever began his work. He began working on this long awaited God commissioned project in 1950.

T5 - Amazing Grace – The Journeys of Paul – 30 minutes

This 30-minute tour complete with music and narration takes an in-depth look at the life and the teachings of apostle Paul. This unique tour follows the journey of Saul persecuting the Christians, following him to the Road to Damascus, his transformation into Paul, teaching from a prison cell with Timothy and ending at the Cross.

T6 - Kingdom of God – 30 minutes

The primary message of Jesus was His teaching on the Kingdom. This Kingdom has been referred to as, The Secret Kingdom, The Invisible Kingdom, and The Powerful Kingdom; but for most people it is thought of as a Misunderstood and Unattainable Kingdom. This tour is not only inspirational and educational, but will also show you how to access this Kingdom and become a citizen. In this world of uncertainty, division and turmoil; please know there is an unshakable Kingdom of Love. In the words of Jesus Himself; “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.” (tour 30 minutes).

T7 - Museum of Woodcarving

Biblewalk, one of the world’s leading Christian attractions and wax museums has become the new home to the Museum of Woodcarving. The world famous “Museum of Woodcarving” is the largest collection of woodcarvings in the world created by one man. It took Joseph Barta thirty years to carve his vision of Bible stories into 100 life-size figures. Mr. Barta spent over four and a half years completing, his life sized carving of The Last Supper, spending two years on the face of Jesus.

This extraordinary woodcarving collection also features over 400 miniature carvings of wildlife, pets, and livestock. Mr. Barta’s collection was displayed in a museum in Spooner, Wisconsin for over thirty-two years. It was moved by the owners to Kissimmee, Florida in 1984 but returned to Wisconsin in 1989 finding it’s home in Shell Lake. The Museum of Woodcarving has remained in Shell Lake until this past August.
